What’s New at Blue Hills Safari Resort – June Edition

Spring is in full swing here at Blue Hills Safari Resort, and with it comes lots of new faces, fresh upgrades, and exciting changes around the ranch. Whether you’ve visited before or planning your first trip, here’s everything new that’s been happening lately!

🦒 Blue Is Getting a Giraffe Family!

Big news — our sweet giraffe, Blue, won’t be alone much longer! We’re getting two new giraffes who will soon join him to form a new little family. We’ve also got a brand-new giraffe fence in the works to make sure they’ve got plenty of room to stretch their legs and enjoy that big Texas sky together.

👋 Meet the New Coatis

We recently welcomed two adorable new coatis to the ranch! They’re still settling in, but doing great — and soon, they’ll be introduced to the coati already on site. We’re easing into the introduction so everyone feels safe and comfortable. We can’t wait to see them all together!

🍼 Baby Animals Galore

We’ve had a serious baby boom around here, and we are not complaining. Say hello to our newest (and cutest) arrivals:

• A snuggly baby kangaroo who’s still bottle-fed.

• A baby horse named Gilligan, already trotting around and charming guests.

• Four baby calves, each one cuter than the last.

• Two baby oryx exploring their new world.

• Three brand-new baby bison, including one white bison!

• A baby beefalo -- which is a mix between bison and cow.

• A bearded dragon — who is enjoying the Texas sun.

• Baby ducks and baby turkeys winning their way into everyone’s hearts.

And if you haven’t met them yet, we’ve got capybaras too!

🐢 A Tortoise Welcome

We’re moving check-ins down to the barn area, and we’re making sure it’s not just functional — it’s fun! As you drive in, you’ll now see our brand-new tortoise exhibit. It’s right along the sidewalk, so you can step out of your car and walk with the tortoises as you head to check in. It’s a calm, up-close welcome to the ranch we think you're going to love.

🦦 Otter Upgrade

Just in front of the barn, we’re building a brand-new otter home that looks like a cozy little cabin. These playful guys are getting the full VIP treatment — including the in-ground pool we added last month. It’s going to be a dreamy new home for our water-loving friends, and we can’t wait for you to see it all come together.

🎲 New Family Games Around the Resort

We’ve added a lot of family-friendly games throughout the resort to keep everyone entertained between animal visits. Whether you’re here for the day or spending the night, there’s always something to do (besides getting covered in animal kisses, of course).

There’s never a dull moment at Blue Hills, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
